How Can I Boost My Immune System Fast?

Boosting your immune system means making healthier, better choices and making positive changes to your lifestyle. There is a whole range of things you can do to help boost your immune system, both internally and externally. Here are some of the changes you can make to your lifestyle in order to boost your immune system as quickly as possible.

Stay hydrated

Drinking water regularly can help to improve your overall health and boost your immune system too. By staying hydrated, your body will be much stronger when it comes to fighting off colds, flus and other illnesses. Aim to get at least two liters of water per day, and more if you have excess body weight or are active throughout the day.

Start exercising

If you don’t already exercise on a regular basis, it’s a good time to start. Health experts recommend exercising for 150-200 minutes per week, but if you’re starting out, it’s a good idea to start slower. Begin by exercising for 20 minutes a day for five days a week, and increase from there. Even if you want to boost your immune system quickly, it’s important that you don’t start exercising too rigorously if you are not already used to it. By doing this, you could end up doing more damage than good for your body.

Get your daily dose of vitamin C

Vitamin C is one of the many things that your body needs each day. Thankfully, it’s not difficult to find foods which contain this vitamin. Oranges, papaya, broccoli, sweet potatoes and tomatoes. A good balanced diet should provide you with all the vitamin C your body needs.

Get enough vitamin D

Depending on where you live, getting vitamin D naturally from the sun might not always be a possibility. Fortunately, the sun isn’t the only source of vitamin D. Mushrooms and egg yolks are just two of the foods which contain vitamin D, and oily fish are a good source of both vitamin D and Omega 3.

Drink herbal teas

Some types of herbal teas, such as lemon and ginger tea, are great additions to your diet and can give you some much-needed goodness. If you don’t have herbal tea bags, you can make your own. Put a slice of lemon in a cup of boiling water, and add the juice from grated ginger for added benefits.
